Le musée de Normandie – Ville de Caen prépare pour l’été 2021, en partenariat avec l’Inventaire général de la Région Normandie, une exposition sur le patrimoine normand au cinéma. La Normandie, réputée pour ses festivals internationaux (Deauville, Cabourg, etc.), se révèle être, depuis plus d’un siècle, une terre accueillante pour les tournages de longs métrages de fiction. Plus de 670 films, français et étrangers, ont déjà pris pour cadre le territoire régional, certains laissant entrevoir plus que d’autres des éléments très variés du patrimoine normand, patrimoine naturel mais aussi et surtout patrimoine bâti . Telle est la mati ère de cette exposition qui sera présentée dans l’enceinte du château de Caen construit par Guillaume le Conquérant, lieu historique de la ville mais aussi lieu de tournage de scènes de plusieurs films, dont Les Bidasses en folie, de Claude Zidi (1971) ou encore Guillaume, la jeunesse du Conquérant, de Fabien Drugeon (2015).
