In this comprehensive well-written review the latest information is concisely presented. A simplified classificaton of the inflammatory alopecias is now the accepted standard; treatment is recommended in ranked tiers. This practical advice is welcome. Additionally the advances in our understanding of the hair cycle and structure leads me to have hope for more rational, effective and hopefully safe, alternative therapies for androgenetic alopecia may be closer to reality.
