The Journal of Biological Systems is a quarterly publication aimed at promoting interdisciplinary approaches in biology and medicine, utilizing various tools, including mathematics and systems theory, to study biological phenomena. This journal welcomes original research papers and review articles covering a wide range of fields, including but not limited to: complex systems research, isomorphism, nonlinear dynamics, entropy, and the application of mathematical tools and systems theory in biology and medicine. We encourage interdisciplinary methods, applying techniques and theories from one discipline to another, and integrating research from atomic to molecular, macromolecular, cellular, and organismal levels. Topics of interest include animal biology, plant biology, environmental studies, relationships between individuals and ecosystems, bioeconomics, renewable resource management, hierarchical theory, and integration across spatial and temporal scales. Additionally, we focus on evolutionary biology, co-evolution, genetics and evolution, branching processes, and phylogenetics. Our scope also includes medical systems, physiology, cardiac modeling, medical computational models, cancer research, and epidemiology. Numerical simulation and computation, numerical studies and analyses of biological data, epistemology, and the history of science will also be discussed in this journal. We will also publish book reviews to facilitate academic exchange.
