In this paper, the authors will present the hardware and IT&amp;C structure of the synchrophasor technology and the phasor data concentrator (PDC) of the Transport and System Operator (TSO) Transelectrica’s new Wide Area Measurement System (WAMS). Also, they will write a brief overview of these applications and the development possibilities within the platform from an engineering point of view. Moreover, it will be introduced the possibility of a new enhanced hybrid state estimator, and the link between European Awareness System (EAS) and WAMS.
