The Archives of Physiology and Biochemistry is an international peer-reviewed journal focused on the molecular, biochemical, and cellular aspects of metabolic diseases, along with related clinical and therapeutic strategies. This journal aims to meet the growing demand for comprehensive publications on metabolic diseases, publishing complete original research articles, rapid communications, reviews, and mini-reviews. The overall goal of the journal is to disseminate new methods to enhance the understanding of major metabolic diseases. Its scope covers the molecular and cellular pathophysiology of metabolic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome, as well as related complications. Clinical research is considered an integral part of the journal and should relate to one of the following topics: dysregulation of hormone receptors and signaling pathways, contributions of genetic variations and gene regulatory processes, impaired intermediary metabolism at the cellular level, secretion and metabolism of peptides, and other factors mediating cellular crosstalk.
