The formation of microaggregates after addition of ethanol to pig and rabbit blood was previously studied by the present group (1). This microaggregate formation took place in whole blood and platelet-rich plasma but not in platelet-poor plasma. These findings raised the question whether ethanol effects hemostasis in vivo.
