The scope ranges from molecular mechanisms to investigations at the ecosystem level. Aquatic Sciences also features interdisciplinary and boundary-crossing research that examines interactions among geological, microbial, biological, chemical, physical, hydrological, and social processes, as well as assessments of interactions between land-water, air-water, benthic-oceanic, river-ocean, lens-water, and groundwater-surface water.
