In this study, searching for biophotonic crystals in some organisms and plants.Experiments were carried out on Bombyx mori Pupae, Scarabaeus viette Wing, Merlangius merlangus Peel, Domestic pigeon Feathers, Gallus gallus domesticus Feathers, and Bambusa vulgaris (L.) using Scanning Electron Microscope Technique (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX).This study explores the presence and characteristics of biophotonic crystals in various organisms and plants using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX) techniques.The research focuses on six specimens: Bombyx mori (silkworm pupae), Scarabaeus viette (dung beetle wing), Merlangius merlangus (fish peel), Domestic pigeon feathers, Gallus gallus domesticus (chicken feathers), and Bambusa vulgaris (bamboo).The analysis revealed the presence of Chitin in silkworm pupae and dung beetle wings, Guanine in fish peel, Keratin in feathers, and Cellulose in bamboo.These biophotonic crystals contribute to the coloration seen in these specimens, produced not by pigments but by the physical interaction of light with nanostructures.Results showed that these materials contain Chitin, Cellulose (Pupae and bamboo), Guanine, and Keratin respectively.This study through light on a new field of photonic crystals need further researches.This research highlights the diverse roles of photonic crystals in nature, emphasizing the need for further studies to understand their potential applications in optoelectronics and photonics.The findings suggest a new avenue for exploring natural photonic crystals and their possible technological uses.
