Belt and One Road(OBAOR) is a significant strategic decision made by the Chinese Central Government to tackle the profound of the global situation and to accommodate both the domestic and international situations.From a historical perspective,this paper interprets the strategic importance of the OBAOR,analyzes the global trend of economic and trade growth,studies the rationales of China's international cooperation by referring to both external policy change and internal structural adjusting during the rise of China and reviews the current strategies of national spatial development.It is argued that along with the implementation of the OBAOR strategy,China's overall spatial development policies would be transformed from one-way opening to full opening,from fragmented land- and ocean-oriented development to integrated development,and from central orchestrating to gateway leaderships.
