Resonance Raman spectra were obtained for (Ph4P)2WSe4 and for [(Ph3P)2AuSe2WSe2Au(PPh3)]. DMF. The tungsten-selenium stretching frequencies were assigned and a number of overtone bands were observed in each case. The use of resonance Raman spectroscopy to determine the coordination geometry in these complexes is illustrated.
