To mitigate the high-amplitude pressure oscillations generated during the steam low-speed jet condensation process and reduce the risk of dynamic load damage to the suppression pool and its adjacent facilities, this study designed a temperature-rising cylinder scheme based on the characteristics of low-speed steam jet condensation pressure oscillation and studied the mitigation effect of this scheme through experiments. The experimental results showed that this scheme could effectively reduce the time of low-velocity steam jet condensation in the high-amplitude pressure oscillation region. For instance, at a steam mass flow rate of 30 kg/m 2 s, the time was reduced from 6300 s to 700 s, which significantly improves the safety of the pool and nearby facilities. Moreover, the scheme does not affect the suppression ability of the pool and can ensure the long-term effective operation of the suppression system.
