Since its inception in 1965, the international journal Acta Mechanica has been one of the leading journals in the field of theoretical and applied mechanics. In addition to classical areas such as elasticity, plasticity, vibrations, rigid body dynamics, fluid dynamics, and gas dynamics, it places particular emphasis on emerging fields like non-Newtonian fluid dynamics, micro/nano mechanics, smart materials, and structures, as well as issues related to the mechanics and interfaces of materials. The journal also welcomes papers in related areas such as rheology, thermodynamics, and the electromagnetic interactions between fluids and solids. Furthermore, articles addressing significant problems in mechanics through applied mathematics are also encouraged.
