AMBIX is an internationally recognized peer-reviewed quarterly journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research and book reviews on the knowledge, social, and cultural history of alchemy and chemistry. It covers research, discussions, and primary materials related to the history of alchemy and chemistry across all historical periods (from ancient to modern) and geographical regions. AMBIX publishes individual articles, themed sections, and larger special issues (single or double issues, typically guest-edited). The topics covered by the journal include, but are not limited to, the interactions between alchemy and chemistry and other disciplines; chemical pharmacology; molecular science; practices related to materials, tools, institutions, and visual culture; environmental chemistry; the chemical industry; the representation of alchemy and chemistry in popular culture; biographical and historiographical studies; and the examination of issues related to gender, race, and colonial experiences within a chemical context.
