Founded by H. C. Schumacher in 1821, "Astronomische Nachrichten" is the oldest astronomy journal still in publication today. It has published numerous significant astronomical discoveries and important papers in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics across more than 300 volumes, excellently representing the progress of astronomical research over the past 180 years. Today, "Astronomical Notes/Astronomische Nachrichten" publishes articles on observational and theoretical astrophysics, as well as topics related to the solar system and solar physics. Additionally, it covers papers on ground-based and space-based astronomical instruments, as well as research on numerical astrophysical techniques and supercomputer modeling. Papers can be presented through electronic short video sequences. "Astronomical Notes/Astronomische Nachrichten" also publishes special issues of conference proceedings.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors

Books Citation Format

Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.
