Biological Psychiatry is the official journal of the Biological Psychiatry Society, aimed at promoting excellence in scientific research and education in the fields of the nature, causes, mechanisms, and treatments of thought, emotion, or behavioral disorders. In line with this mission, this peer-reviewed international journal rapidly publishes foundational and clinical contributions related to the pathophysiology and treatment of major psychiatric disorders. The journal features original research that represents significant new insights or major impacts in the field, particularly addressing issues related to genetic and environmental risk factors, neural circuits, neurochemistry, and important new therapeutic approaches.
