Since its inception in 1957, the Canadian Journal of Animal Science has published new research covering various aspects of livestock and animal products. This includes studies on breeding and genetics, cellular and molecular biology, growth and development, meat science, simulation of animal systems, physiology and endocrinology, nutrition of ruminants and non-ruminants, as well as welfare, behavior, and management. The journal also features commentaries, letters to the editor, abstracts of technical papers presented at the Canadian Society of Animal Science annual meetings, and occasionally publishes conference proceedings.
