《有机金属化学杂志》的目标是处理有机金属化合物的理论方面、结构化学、合成、物理和化学性质(包括反应机理)和实际应用的原创论文。有机金属化合物被定义为含有金属-碳键的化合物。金属一词包括所有碱金属和碱土金属、所有过渡金属以及元素周期表中的镧系元素和锕系元素。包括第 13 族元素和第 14 - 16 族的较重成员在内的准金属也包括在内。术语化学包括所有此类化合物的合成、表征和反应化学。也欢迎基于有机金属配合物在生物有机金属化学、医学、材料科学、均相催化和能量转换中的使用的研究报告。期刊的范围已扩大到包括有机金属配合物在生物有机金属化学和材料科学中的重要研究,以及有机金属化学中较重的主族元素。该杂志还发表评论文章、简短的通讯和笔记。
