The journal "Plant and Soil" publishes original research papers and review articles that explore the interface between plant biology and soil science, enhancing our mechanistic understanding of plant-soil interactions. We focus on the intersection of plant biology and soil science, seeking manuscripts with strong theoretical foundations that develop and test hypotheses aimed at understanding the potential mechanisms of plant-soil interactions. Manuscripts may include fundamental and applied aspects of mineral nutrition, plant water relations, symbiotic and pathogenic plant-microbe interactions, root anatomy and morphology, soil biology, ecology, agricultural chemistry, and agricultural physics, as long as they are hypothesis-driven and enhance our mechanistic understanding. Articles that include significant molecular or modeling components also fall within the scope of this journal. All manuscripts must be written in English, with consistent spelling, using either American or British English.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors
