The Scottish Journal of Geology has a rich history since its inception in 1965. It is a joint publication of the Geological Society of Glasgow and the Edinburgh Geological Society, having previously published separate TRANSACTIONS since 1860 in Glasgow and 1863 in Edinburgh. Traditionally, the journal has focused on various aspects of geology in Scotland and its adjacent regions, including the surrounding seas. The publication policy has been outward-looking, encouraging submissions of review papers and research on broader aspects of Earth sciences that are not limited to Scottish geology. The diverse geology of Scotland continues to provide an important natural laboratory for Earth science research, with many pioneering geological studies published in this journal and its predecessors over the years. The Scottish Journal of Geology enjoys a high reputation worldwide and aims to maintain its leading position among global Earth science publications.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors
