The journal "Zhurnal Obshchei Biologii" publishes theoretical articles on various biological topics of interest to biologists from all specialties, including evolution, ecology, general taxonomy, general cytology, genetics, mechanisms of adaptation of living organisms to their environments, developmental patterns of organisms, bionics, and more. These articles are based on new original empirical material or summarize the work of specific scientific teams. In addition to theoretical articles, the journal includes reviews of new books by Russian and foreign biologists, as well as information about international congresses and nationwide meetings on significant biological issues.
