This article analyses some of the most important aspects of Bartolome Mitre’s Spanish translation of Dante’s Comedy , published for the first time in 1894. Starting with a study of the preface, entitled Teoria del traductor , the essay will focus on Mitre’s translation theory, mainly based on respect for the rhyme, meter and rhythm of the prototext. Since the translator appears to be profoundly interested in its linguistic aspects, special attention will be paid to the analysis of Mitre’s theory according to which the ideal Spanish of the translation should approximate the language of the most important auctoritates of the xv century. Finally, by means of the comparison between the prototext and the translation of some excerpts of Malebolge , the work will analyze the methods through which Mitre tried to recreate in Spanish Dante’s poetic word.

This article examines the information we have on the circulation, possession, and reading of Nicolas Fernandez de Moratin’s erotic poem Arte de putear with the objective of clarifying some aspects of its fluid reception during the decades after it was written. I will use some little-cited documents, as well as the data that can be obtained from the copies of the poem that are currently available. In a related process, I will also correct some erroneous information that has been presented during the last few years about one of the copies of the poem, which helps untangle the textual relationships among them and allows constructing a hypothetical stemma .

Abstract: In this work we will first discuss the love and passion of the two hero- ines in La Celestina and Romance of the Western Chamber . We will then compare them with the aim of demonstrating the similarities and differences between the two pro- tagonists, Melibea and Cui Yingying, with respect to female curiosity and disguise, free will, lust and sensual love. Specifically, they are both maids locked up in their rooms, and they feel the same curiosity towards the other sex. They also feel the same dissat- isfaction with family restraints and feudal morality and aspire to freedom in love. This establishes a basis for the artistic creation of free love and feminism in later love literature.

El descubrimiento de dos folios de un incunable sevillano que transmite el mismo vocabulario que el ms. Esc. f-II-0 permitio concluir que se trata este del primer vocabulario romance-latin que llego a la imprenta. Gracias al prologo conservado en uno de los folios, contamos con mas datos para acercarnos al problema del autor. En este articulo repasare los avances respecto de la fecha y la autoria, para analizar luego las numerosas similitudes que presenta con el Universal Vocabulario de Palencia. Esta investigacion ofrecera, ademas de un estudio detallado de las fuentes lexicograficas de ambos vocabularios, varias pruebas relativamente contundentes que permiten identificar a Alfonso Fernandez de Palencia como el autor.

El metodo de trabajo de Juan de Vera Tassis para la edicion de las comedias de Calderon todavia resulta enigmatico. Este estudio pretende detectar y justificar el modus operandi del editor en la configuracion de la Novena parte a partir de la transmision textual de las piezas que conforman este ultimo y particular volumen. Asimismo, el analisis profundiza en los posibles antecedentes textuales de Vera Tassis y pone de relieve la necesidad de seguir indagando en su figura.

En las primeras decimas de la comedia Lope ofrece toda una preceptiva del amor reciproco usando dos fuentes totalmente complementarias: el apologo de Temistio sobre Eros y Anteros y los Dialoghi di amore de Leon Hebreo. El apologo griego, traducido al latin en los siglos xvi y xvii, Lope lo habia recreado muy explicitamente a lo largo de toda su vida en los tres grandes generos que llevo a cultivar, prosa de ficcion, poesia y comedia. Los Dialoghi los habia usado con el mismo proposito en otra comedia, Fuenteovejuna.

This paper analyses the role of the legitimized speaker in State discourse. Issues relating to the typology of institutional State discourse are addressed 
and the framework of public discourse is described through its characterization. 
Aqualitative selection of texts is employed to support theoretical assumptions. 
The examples correspond to a series of messages and speeches delivered by kings 
Juan Carlos I and Felipe VI within the framework of State discourse in Spain. 
These two speakers are legitimized by the Spanish Constitution of 1978. Their 
speeches are received with great interest from different ideological and media 
perspectives.

Esta investigacion trata de restaurar una parte importante de la historia de Santaella. Intentaremos demostrar, con base en los datos lexicograficos, historicos, literarios y testimoniales, que la tradicion de considerar la triple identificacion Alonso Colorado-guapo de Santaella-don Quijote en el capitulo XXII parece no tener fundamento cientifico. Este trabajo es especialmente interesante porque da cuenta de la enorme incidencia de la obra magna de Cervantes en la tradicion popular.
