Acta Histochemica is a journal dedicated to the biochemistry of cellular and tissue structures, publishing original research articles, brief communications, reviews, letters to the editor, conference reports, and conference abstracts. The journal aims to provide a forum for the community engaged in cell chemistry and histochemistry within the life sciences, covering areas such as cell biology, biotechnology, neurobiology, immunobiology, pathology, pharmacology, botany, zoology, as well as environmental and toxicological research. It focuses on new developments and applications in cell chemistry and histochemistry, with a particular welcome for manuscripts reporting on live cell and tissue studies. Understanding the complexity of cells and tissues, including their biological complexity and biodiversity, is a primary goal of the journal, and reports on this subject are especially encouraged. We welcome original research articles, brief communications, and reviews, particularly when molecular biology is combined with advanced microscopy techniques (including image analysis and cell counting methods). Letters to the editor should comment on or explain previously published articles in the journal to stimulate scientific discussion. Conference reports are considered very important publications in the journal, as they provide an excellent opportunity to showcase the latest advancements in rapidly evolving research fields that are difficult to keep up with. Authors of conference reports should consult with the editor before writing their reports. The editorial policy of the editors and editorial board is to ensure rapid publication; once a manuscript is received, an editorial decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection will be made within one month. The publisher aims to publish within three months after a manuscript is accepted.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
