Founded in 1964 by the Society of Historical Demography, the Annales de Demographie Historique is the only French-language journal in the field. It publishes international research in both French and English on the history of population and family, focusing on methodological rigor and analytical categories. The journal embraces a broad range of approaches, including social history and the history of health, while being attentive to contributions from anthropology and economics. The Annales de Demographie Historique is published with the support of the CNRS.
