The Southeast Asian Journal of Tropical Medicine and Public Health was established in 1967 with the aim of improving the health and living standards of people in Southeast Asia by pooling human resources from participating SEAMEO member countries. The project focuses on enhancing the training capabilities of existing facilities and aims to minimize the waste of duplicated programs and activities through effective regional cooperation among the participating national centers. In 1992, the project was renamed the SEAMEO Regional Tropical Medicine and Public Health Network.
