Since its inception in 1978, the journal "Fuzzy Sets and Systems" has been dedicated to the international advancement of fuzzy set and system theory and applications. Fuzzy set theory now encompasses a well-organized corpus of fundamental concepts, including but not limited to aggregation operations, general relational theory, measures of information content, and the arithmetic of fuzzy numbers. Fuzzy sets are the cornerstone of non-additive uncertainty theory (i.e., possibility theory) and serve as a universal tool for linguistic and numerical modeling, particularly in systems based on fuzzy rules. Many works integrate fuzzy concepts with other scientific disciplines and modern technologies. In mathematics, fuzzy sets have sparked new research topics related to category theory, topology, algebra, and analysis. Fuzzy sets are also part of the latest trends in generalized metrics and integrals, and they are combined with statistical methods. Furthermore, fuzzy sets have a strong logical foundation in the tradition of many-valued logic.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors

Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
