The journal "Aquatic Toxicology" publishes significant research contributions that enhance our understanding of the impacts of harmful substances, including both natural and synthetic chemicals, on aquatic organisms and ecosystems. The journal considers both laboratory and field studies, with a focus on marine and freshwater environments. We strive to attract high-quality original scientific papers, critical reviews, and expert opinion pieces in the following areas: the effects of harmful substances at the molecular, cellular, sub-organismal, organismal, population, community, and ecosystem levels; toxic mechanisms; genetic disruption, transgenerational effects, behavioral and adaptive responses; the impact of harmful substances on the structure, function, and services of aquatic ecosystems; toxicity assessment of mixtures; and statistical methods for predicting pollutant exposure and hazards. The journal also welcomes manuscripts from other relevant fields, such as the development of innovative concepts, methods, and approaches that facilitate the broader application of toxicological datasets in aquatic environmental protection and inform ecological risk assessments and decision-making in related sectors.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors
Books Citation Format
Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
