The Journal of Business Ethics publishes original articles from various methodological and disciplinary perspectives that address ethical issues related to business, aiming to bring new or unique insights to their fields. Since its inception in 1980, the editors have encouraged an expansion of scope. The term 'business' is broadly understood to encompass all systems involving the exchange of goods and services, while 'ethics' is specifically defined as all human actions aimed at ensuring a good life. The journal analyzes ethical considerations in areas such as production, consumption, marketing, advertising, social and economic accounting, labor relations, public relations, and organizational behavior. The style and level of dialogue are intended for all those interested in business ethics, including practitioners, academics, government agencies, and consumer groups. We welcome speculative philosophy and empirical research reports. To facilitate dialogue among interested parties, papers are presented in a relatively jargon-free style. Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
