Cretaceous Research provides a forum for the rapid publication of research on all aspects of the Cretaceous, including its boundaries with the Jurassic and Paleogene. The journal publishes authoritative papers detailing investigations in Cretaceous stratigraphy and paleontology, regional geological studies, and reviews of recently published books, supplemented by brief communications of significant new findings. Submissions to Cretaceous Research should place the research in a broad context, focusing on enhancing our understanding of the Cretaceous, which is of great interest to the journal's diverse international readership. Full papers that focus solely on local topics or fields are not accepted; authors of short communications are encouraged to discuss how their findings relate to the broader context of the Cretaceous. Research areas include: • Regional geology • Stratigraphy and paleontology • Paleontology • Paleobiogeography • Paleoceanography • Paleoclimatology • Evolutionary paleoecology • Geochronology • Global events.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors
Books Citation Format
Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
