A supersonic flow past a hemispherical nose with an opposing jet placed on its axis has been investigated using large eddy simulation. We find that the flow behaviors depend mainly on the jet total pressure ratio and can be classified into three typical flow regimes of unstable, stable and transition. The unstable flow regime is characterized by an oscillatory bow shock with a multi-jet-cell structure and the stable flow regime by a steady bow shock with a single jet cell. The transition regime lies between the unstable and stable ones with a complex flow evolution. Turbulence statistics are further analyzed to reveal the relevant turbulent behaviors in the three flow regimes. The results obtained in this study provide a physical insight into the understanding of the mechanisms underlying this complex flow.

LARGE-EDDY SIMULATION OF OPPOSING-JET-PERTURBED SUPERSONIC FLOWS PAST A HEMISPHERICAL NOSE

This review highlights some of the lessons that the holographic gauge/gravity duality has taught us regarding the behavior of the shear viscosity to entropy density in strongly coupled field theories. The viscosity to entropy ratio has been shown to take on a very simple universal value in all gauge theories with an Einstein gravity dual. Here we describe the origin of this universal ratio, and focus on how it is modified by generic higher derivative corrections corresponding to curvature corrections on the gravity side of the duality. In particular, certain curvature corrections are known to push the viscosity to entropy ratio below its universal value. This disproves a longstanding conjecture that such a universal value represents a strict lower bound for any fluid in nature. We discuss the main developments that have led to insight into the violation of this bound, and consider whether the consistency of the theory is responsible for setting a fundamental lower bound on the viscosity to entropy ratio.

THE SHEAR VISCOSITY TO ENTROPY RATIO: A STATUS REPORT

We study the epitaxial growth mechanism of diamond films using various hetero-materials as substrates in a hot-filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD) chamber. The same parameters were maintained in the nucleation and growth processes of diamond films on these substrates. The experimental results showed that the dominant orientation of diamond crystals has a relation with that of substrates identified by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. The preference of diamond films on non-diamond substrates is explained as heteroepitaxial growth. We think that the initial nucleation process is the key to the heteroepitaxial growth of diamond film.

In this paper, we employed a novel technique with the help of the Daftardar-Gejji and Jafari method (DGJM) to solve the generalized time-fractional Cattaneo model (GTFCM) via Caputo derivative with order [Formula: see text]. The existence and uniqueness of solutions are examined using Banach’s fixed-point theorem, and stability is evaluated under Ulam–Hyers conditions. We compared our results with the exact solution and existing techniques, demonstrating our approach’s efficiency.

This paper presents a thorough investigation into the metric dimensions of graphene, emphasizing its unique spatial properties and their broad implications. We analyze how these metric dimensions affect graphene’s electrical, thermal, and mechanical behavior in various applications. Our study delves into the physical mechanisms behind these properties, including atomic interactions, lattice dynamics, and external factors like temperature and pressure. The metric dimension of a graph G is the minimum cardinality of a subset [Formula: see text] such that every pair of distinct vertices [Formula: see text] is uniquely identified by their distance vectors relative to W and the resolving set, ensures for any [Formula: see text] with [Formula: see text], there exists a vertex [Formula: see text] such that [Formula: see text], where d denotes the distance function in G. In this work, we will determine the metric dimension and Resolving set. However, these findings pave the way for innovative applications in electronics, composites, and beyond.

Exploring the metric dimensions of graphene: Unveiling the intricacies of its atomic structure

In this research, a novel design stochastic numerical technique is presented to investigate the unsteady form magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) slip flow along the boundary layer to analyze the transportation and heat transfer in a solar collector through nano liquids which is a revolution in the field of neurocomputing. Thermal conductivity in variable form is dependent on temperature and wall slips are assumed over the boundary. For mathematical modeling, the solar collector is assumed in the form of a nonlinear stretching sheet and a quite new artificial neural networks (ANNs) based approach is used to solve the current problem in which inverse multiquadric radial basis (IMRB) kernel is sandwiched between a global search solver named genetic algorithms (GAs) and a highly effective local solver named sequential quadratic programming (SQP) i.e. IMRB-GASQP solver. The governing boundary value problem is altered in the form of a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) through the utilization of similarity transformation and then the obtained system of ODEs is solved using IMRB-GASQP solver by altering the values of distinguished parameters involved in it to observe the fluctuation in the velocity and temperature profiles of nanofluid. The obtained results are effectively compared with the reference solutions using the Adams numerical technique in graphical and tabulated form. An exhaustive error analysis using performance operators is presented while the efficacy of the designed solver using various statistical operators is also part of this research.

MHD slip flow through nanofluids for thermal energy storage in solar collectors using radiation and conductivity effects: A novel design sequential quadratic programming-based neuro-evolutionary approach

In this research, the integrable Zhanbota-IIA equation which plays an important role in nonlinear optical dynamics is analytically investigated. Based on the extended sinh-Gordon equation expansion method, its bright, dark, combined bright-dark, singular soliton, combined singular soliton and singular periodic solutions are constructed under some constraint conditions. In addition, by using the modified Jacobi elliptic function expansion method, the Jacobi elliptic function solutions and the other soliton solutions are derived. Further, the modulational instability is studied based on the standard linear stability analysis. The graphical interpretations of the obtained results are demonstrated graphically. To the best of our knowledge, this study represents a unique and significant contribution to investigating the integrable Zhanbota-IIA equation. In addition, the extracted soliton solutions open doors to understanding the nonlinear systems more deeply and connecting their potential across a range of scientific and technological domains.

Optical wave structures and stability analysis of integrable Zhanbota equation

The investigation focuses on the consequences of various thermal distributions examined in the context of Magneto–Darcy–Rayleigh–Bénard (MDRB) convection onset under local thermal non-equilibrium (LTNE). The system under consideration consists of a two-layer configuration, with an incompressible fluid and horizontally positioned adiabatic peripheries. An analytical solution to the resultant problem is accomplished using the regular perturbation method. Concerning the six thermal distributions, we examine variables such as the ratio of heat expansion in the solid phase, the ratio of heat diffusivities in the solid phase, and the inter-phase heat diffusivity ratio, which exhibits a propensity towards LTNE. Furthermore, we investigate the consequences of modifying the values of constraints, namely, the ratio of heat expansion in the fluid phase, the ratio of heat diffusivities in the fluid phase, the porous parameter, the heat ratio, and the Chandrasekhar number. The empirical observations indicate that the model (iii) exhibits a significantly higher degree of instability when compared to other distributions. Conversely, model (v) demonstrates a notable level of stability. Moreover, it is intriguing that the system governed by the model (vi) exhibits higher stability than the model (iv) thermal distribution within the context of a composite system.
