Comprehensive Summary To address the stereoselective synthesis challenge in π‐stacked grids with four chiral centers, we utilized coplanar and highly rigid 11,12‐dihydroindeno[2,1‐ a ]fluorene‐11,12‐diol and 2,2'‐bithiophene as synthons, employing Friedel‐Crafts gridization (FCG). Leveraging the supramolecular interactions of S···S and π···π within the thiophene moiety, along with the steric effect of the 11,12‐dihydroindeno[2,1‐ a ]fluorene scaffold, we successfully achieved the exclusive generation of a single isomer of Ladder‐type π‐stacked grids (LGs‐IF) containing six theoretical isomers. By subsequently substituting 2,2'‐bithiophene with thiophene/bithiophene derivatives as synthons, we maintained an exceptionally high level of stereoselectivity. This study introduces a novel approach for the stereo‐controlled preparation of grids involving multi‐chiral centers.

Stereoselective Gridization of Ladder‐Type Grids with Four Chiral Centers

Comprehensive Summary A novel type of A‐type nanogrids (AGs) with axial and central chirality was synthesized via Friedel‐Crafts gridization of thiophenes and difluorenyl biaromatic derivatives, yielding 9%—30%. Additionally, the effect of stereoisomers of 1,1’‐binaphthyl difluorenols (BINDFOH) was investigated to demonstrate that R / S ‐BINDFOH is more advantageous for the synthesis of AGs than Mix‐BINDFOH. Furthermore, tests on OFET memory devices showed that AGs have a larger storage window, indicating potential for data storage applications.

<scp>One‐Pot</scp> Synthesis of Axially and Centrally Chiral A‐type Nanogrids

一步法合成轴向和中心手性A型纳米网格

Comprehensive Summary Layer‐by‐layer (LbL) solution processing is an efficient method to realize high performance organic solar cells (OSCs). One of the drawbacks of the LbL‐processed active layer is the large difference in the crystallinity of the donor and acceptor, which will lead to imbalance charge transfer and result in unfavorable charge recombination. Herein, we combined a novel volatile additive 3,5‐dichloro‐2,4,6‐ trifluorobenzotrifluoride (DTBF) with the LbL method to realize high‐efficiency OSCs. DTBF interacts with the non‐fullerene acceptor BTP‐4F by non‐covalent bonding, which enhances the crystallinity and compact stacking of BTP‐4F. DTBF doped OSC has balanced and efficient electron transport properties, longer carrier lifetime, higher exciton dissociation and charge collection efficiencies, lower energetic disorder than the control OSC without any additives. Benefiting from the optimization of charge dynamics and micro‐morphology by DTBF, the binary LbL‐processed OSC achieved synergistic improvements in open‐circuit voltage, short‐circuit current density and fill factor. As a result, a champion power conversion efficiency ( PCE ) of 19% is realized for DTBF‐optimized OSC, which is superior to the control OSC (17.55%). This work demonstrates a promising approach to modulate active layer morphology and fabricate high performance OSCs.

Volatile Additive Assists Binary Layer‐by‐Layer Solution Processing Organic Solar Cells to Achieve 19% Efficiency

Summary of main observation and conclusion The natural graphite (NG) uniformly coated with alumina ceramics (Al 2 O 3 ) was successfully synthesized through sol‐gel method. The aluminum plastic film soft‐packed battery prepared using Al 2 O 3 ‐coated NG as anode material exhibits excellent cycle performance and safety performance. The cycling retention of AN‐1 is 84.95% after 200 cycles at a rate of 1 C in a potential window ranging from 3.0 to 4.35 V, which is much greater than 75.07% of NG under the same test conditions. The result of the nail penetration tests shows that the successful nail penetration rate of the NG used as anode is 0%, while that of Al 2 O 3 coated samples AN‐1 is 100%. The test results show that the Al 2 O 3 coating could act as a solid electrolyte to suppress side reactions, improve cycle stability, and prevent a thermal runaway under mechanical abuse.

Synthesis of Alumina‐Coated Natural Graphite for Highly Cycling Stability and Safety of Li‐Ion Batteries

Main observation and conclusion Two bis‐imidazolium salts LH 2 ·Cl 2 and LH 2 ·(PF 6 ) 2 with acylated piperazine linker and two N ‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) silver(I) and palladium(II) complexes [L 2 Ag 2 ](PF 6 ) 2 (1) and [L 2 Pd 2 Cl 4 ] (2) were prepared. The crystal structures of LH 2 ·Cl 2 and 1 were confirmed by X‐ray analysis. In 1, one 26‐membered macrometallocycle was generated through two silver(I) ions and two bidentate ligands L. The catalytic activity of 2 was investigated in Sonogashira, Heck‐Mizoroki and Suzuki‐Miyaura reactions. The results displayed that these C—C coupling reactions can be smoothly carried out under the catalysis of 2.

Comprehensive Summary Vicinal stereogenic centers are ubiquitous structural scaffolds in both natural products and synthetic compounds, yet their enantioselective construction remains a significant challenge in organic synthesis. Organoboron compounds are of paramount importance in synthetic chemistry due to their ability to undergo facile transformations, yielding diverse essential chemical bonds such as carbon‐carbon, carbon‐oxygen, carbon‐nitrogen, and carbon‐halogen bonds. Transition‐metal‐catalyzed asymmetric borylative functionalizations of internal alkenes offer a promising strategy for the enantioselective installation of two adjacent chiral centers across carbon‐carbon bonds. By leveraging the versatile transformations of the newly introduced boryl unit, this approach holds great potential for expanding the structural diversity of vicinal stereogenic scaffolds. In this concise review, we aim to highlight recent advancements in transition‐metal‐catalyzed asymmetric borylative functionalizations of internal alkenes, underscore their utility as a versatile approach for constructing vicinal stereogenic centers, and discuss unsolved challenges and future directions in this field. Enantioselective Borylative Functionalization of Internal Alkenes: A Platform for Constructing Vicinal Stereocenters†

Comprehensive Summary Real‐time on‐site monitoring of resorcinol (RS) concentrations is crucial for detecting hazardous levels, enabling prompt response measures to mitigate potential environmental and health risks. In this study, we developed an innovative method using CoNi@CN‐2 nanozymes to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for oxidizing 3,3',5,5'‐tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). Our results show that the formation of Ni 2+ through the oxidation of Ni 0 on the CoNi@CN‐2 surface significantly enhances the electron‐donating capacity of Co 0 . The catalytic reaction of TMB is mediated by redox active species (SO 4 •− , •O 2 − , •OH and 1 O 2 ). RS drives colorimetry by transferring electrons to the benzene ring and specific nitrogen atoms in ox‐TMB, reducing ox‐TMB to TMB. Furthermore, the colorimetric assay shows a robust linear correlation between RS concentration and absorbance (Abs), described by Abs = –0.44[RS] + 0.886 (0—200 μmol/L, R 2 = 0.983). Also, we introduce a novel smartphone‐integrated autonomous detection software that can analyze RS concentration and grayscale values (GSV), yielding GSV = 0.327[RS] + 63.601 (0—200 μmol/L, R 2 = 0.990) with a detection limit of 5.29 μmol/L. Additionally, excess PMS leads to ROS attacking specific sites in ox‐TMB, forming secondary oxidation products. This study has enabled rapid and accurate detection of RS, making a significant contribution to environmental safety and protection.

Mechanism of <scp>TMB</scp> Discoloration Catalyzed by Layered <scp>CoNi</scp>@<scp>CN</scp> Nanozymes: Application Based on Smart Phone for Resorcinol Detection

Comprehensive Summary The direct reductive coupling of carbonyl compounds with propargyl halides is a powerful and reliable tool in the synthesis of α‐allenols. However, stoichiometric metal reductants, harsh reaction conditions and a variety of additional additives are required in the traditional strategies. Additionally, the reactivity and regioselectivity control remains an elusive challenge. Herein, we developed the Ti‐catalyzed regioselective reductive coupling of readily available aldehydes and racemic propargyl bromides to rapidly access a wide range of α‐allenols. This method proceed efficiently in a reductive radical‐polar crossover manner featuring mild conditions, excellent regioselectivity control, broad substrate scope, and eco‐friendliness. Preliminary mechanistic studies support the radical‐involved catalytic cycle. And the DFT calculations demonstrate that the regioselectivity is determined by the Zimmerman‐Traxler‐type transition states.

Comprehensive Summary Amidst the pressing environmental challenges posed by the prevalent reliance on fossil fuels, it becomes imperative to seek sustainable alternatives and prioritize energy efficiency. Electrocatalysis, which is renowned for its high efficiency and environmental friendliness, has garnered significant attention. Rare earth elements (REEs), distinguished by their unique electronic and orbital structures, play a crucial role in electrocatalysis. The strategic integration of REEs into catalysts allows for the fine‐tuning of atomic structures, which in turn, significantly boosts catalytic performance. Despite substantial advancements in rare earth‐based materials for electrocatalysis, a comprehensive overview of the regulatory mechanisms involving REEs is lacking. In this mini‐review, we systematically explore the regulatory mechanisms of REEs within electrocatalysts and their pivotal roles in essential electrocatalytic processes such as the CO 2 reduction reaction, oxygen reduction reaction, and hydrogen evolution reaction. We commence with an elucidation of REEs, proceed to delineate their regulatory impacts on electrocatalysts and delve into their applications in key electroreduction reactions. We conclude with discussions on current limitations and prospects for further advancements in this burgeoning field of research. Key Scientists
