BOREAS 自 1972 年以来一直出版。出版了来自第四纪研究所有分支的具有广泛国际兴趣的文章。第四纪环境的生物和非生物方面,在冰川和非冰川地区,都被处理:气候、海岸位移、冰川特征、地貌、沉积物、生物及其栖息地,以及地层和年代关系。国际利益,至少在一个大陆或相当一部分大陆内,是接受论文的主要标准。除了文章之外,还发布了讨论贡献和书评等简短项目。
