The Archives of Virology is a journal that covers all branches of virology, publishing original contributions on viruses, virus-like substances, and viral infections affecting humans, animals, plants, insects, and bacteria. The scope is broad, ranging from descriptions of newly discovered viruses to studies on viral structure, composition, and genetics, as well as investigations into the interactions between viruses and host cells, organisms, and populations. Research employs methodologies from molecular biology, molecular genetics, and current immunology and epidemiology. The content includes studies on the molecular pathogenesis, pathophysiology, and genetics of individual host viral infections, as well as molecular epidemiology studies of viral infections in populations. The journal also welcomes research involving applied studies, such as the development of diagnostic techniques, monoclonal antibody production, vaccine development, and antiviral drug development. The Archives of Virology aims to publish obituaries of renowned virologists and leading figures in the field who have recently passed away.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors
