Applied Energy is an information forum focused on innovations, research, development, and demonstration in the fields of energy conversion and conservation, optimization of energy resources, analysis and optimization of energy processes, mitigation of environmental pollutants, and sustainable energy systems. The journal publishes original research papers, review articles, technical notes, and letters to the editor, encouraging authors to submit manuscripts that bridge the gap between research, development, and implementation. The scope ranges from innovative technologies and systems in fossil and renewable energy to economically viable industrial and household energy uses with minimal environmental impact. Applied Energy also addresses modeling and forecasting, protection strategies, and the impacts of energy policies and usage on the environment, society, and economy, including issues related to climate change mitigation and reduction of other environmental pollutants.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors
