Advances in Horticultural Science aims to provide a forum for original investigations in horticulture, viticulture, and oliviculture. The journal publishes fully refereed papers that cover both applied and theoretical approaches to the latest studies in all areas of horticulture, including fruit growing, vegetable growing, viticulture, floriculture, medicinal plants, ornamental gardening, and garden and landscape architecture in temperate, subtropical, and tropical regions. We welcome papers on horticultural aspects of agronomy, breeding, biotechnology, entomology, irrigation, plant stress physiology, plant nutrition, plant protection, plant pathology, and pre- and post-harvest physiology. The journal's mission is to promote a sustainable increase in the quantity and quality of horticultural products and to disseminate new knowledge in the field. Submitted papers should report original research, be methodologically sound, and relevant to the international scientific community. AHS publishes three types of manuscripts: full-length articles, short notes, and review papers. All papers are published in English.

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
