AAC: Augmentative and Alternative Communication is the official journal of the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC), focusing on scientific research in the field of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). The journal publishes articles related to AAC, covering topics such as assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and education for individuals who use or may use AAC systems. Additionally, it discusses theories, technologies, and system developments related to AAC. The wide range of topics included reflects the international development of the field. Manuscripts submitted to AAC should fall into one of the following categories and adhere to the page limits outlined in the Manuscript Preparation Guidelines. Research articles (fully peer-reviewed) report the results of original empirical research, including studies using qualitative and quantitative methods, encompassing group and single-subject experimental designs (e.g., Binger et al., 2008; Petroi et al., 2014). Technical, research, and intervention descriptions (fully peer-reviewed) are brief manuscripts addressing methods, statistics, technologies, or clinical issues relevant to the AAC community, aimed at drawing the research community's attention to areas that have received little or no research in the past (e.g., research descriptions: Thunberg et al., 2016; intervention descriptions: Laubscher et al., 2019).

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
