For over twenty years, Early Childhood Research Quarterly (ECRQ) has significantly influenced the field of early childhood education and development by publishing empirical research that meets the highest standards of scholarly and practical significance. ECRQ predominantly publishes empirical research (using quantitative or qualitative methods) on topics related to early childhood development, theory, and educational practice for children from birth to 8 years of age. The journal also occasionally features practitioner and/or policy perspectives, book reviews, and significant reviews of research. As an applied journal, we are particularly interested in work that has social, policy, and educational relevance and implications, as well as research that strengthens the connections between research and practice.

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
