The International Journal of Production Economics focuses on topics at the interface between engineering and management, covering all aspects related to manufacturing, processing industries, and general production. The journal is inherently interdisciplinary, considering the entire activity cycle, such as the product lifecycle—research, design, development, testing, release, and disposal—as well as the material flow cycle—supply, production, and distribution. The ultimate goal of the journal is to disseminate knowledge to improve industrial practices and strengthen the theoretical foundation necessary for informed decision-making. It provides a forum for exchanging ideas and showcasing new developments in theory and application, as long as engineering and technology align with the management and economic context of industry operations. By nature, the journal combines high standards of traditional academic methods with the practical value of industrial applications. Accepted articles must be based on rigorous theoretical frameworks and contain significant novel scientific contributions. Tracking the economic and financial implications while analyzing issues and solutions is a central theme of the journal.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors
