Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces is an international journal dedicated to fundamental and applied research on colloidal and interfacial phenomena related to biological systems, particularly relevant to the fields of medicine, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food, and cosmetics. Submitted manuscripts must meet the following criteria: (1) they should only involve biological phenomena without describing the physical chemistry or colloidal chemistry background and/or mechanisms; (2) they should only involve colloidal/interfacial phenomena, and those lacking appropriate biological content or relevance will not be considered for publication. The journal regularly publishes research papers, reviews, short communications, and invited perspective articles, referred to as BIOINTERFACE PERSPECTIVES. BIOINTERFACE PERSPECTIVES provides researchers with an opportunity to review their own work and insights into the work of others that inspired and influenced them. The total length of regular articles should not exceed 6,000 words, and a maximum of 8 normal-sized figures and/or tables is allowed (e.g., 3 tables and 5 figures). For multi-panel figures, every two panels count as one figure. Short communications should not exceed half of the above word limit. A brief statistical summary must be provided on the cover page of the article, listing the total number of words and tables/figures.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
