The Journal of Computational Neuroscience provides a platform for the exchange of ideas between computational and experimental neuroscience. This journal publishes original research articles, brief communications, and review papers that describe theoretical and experimental work related to the computation of the brain and nervous system. Papers that integrate theory and experiment are particularly encouraged. Major theoretical papers should address issues that are clearly relevant to biological neural systems, while experimental papers should impact the computational functions of the nervous system and may report results using a variety of methods, including anatomy, electrophysiology, biophysics, imaging, and molecular biology. Papers investigating the pathophysiological mechanisms of the nervous system, or reporting on new techniques of interest to computational neuroscientists, including advancements in neural data analysis methods that provide insights into the functioning of the nervous system, are also welcome (in such cases, methodological papers should include applications of new methods with examples illustrating the insights they generate). We expect to publish research at all levels of analysis, from cognition to cellular.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors
Books Citation Format
Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
