Arabic Sciences and Philosophy (ASP) is an international journal dedicated to the study of Arabic sciences, mathematics, and philosophy within the Islamic world from the eighth to the eighteenth centuries, framed in a cross-cultural context. In 2009, the journal broadened its scope to include significant papers on scientific modernization in the Islamic world during the nineteenth century. Alongside original studies on the history of these fields, ASP also presents research on the interrelations between Arabic and Greek, Indian, Chinese, Latin, Byzantine, Syriac, and Hebrew sciences and philosophies. By shedding new light on the development of these disciplines and the social and ideological contexts in which this development occurred, ASP is essential reading for those interested in these areas.
