Biomass and Bioenergy is an international journal that publishes original research papers, short communications, review articles, and case studies on bioresources, chemical and biological processes, and biomass products related to new renewable energy and materials. The journal's scope extends to the management and economics of the environment, biomass, and bioenergy. Key areas covered include: • Biomass: sources, production processes of energy crops, genetic improvement, and composition. Research must be directly related to biomass energy generation. • Biomass Residues: residues from agricultural production, forestry, plantations (such as palm and sugar), processing industries, and municipal resources (MSW). Papers utilizing biomass residues are welcomed, particularly those showcasing innovative processes or technologies and/or considering the sustainability (or unsustainability) of the raw materials or systems. However, waste treatment processes and pollution control or mitigation solely related to bioenergy are outside the journal's scope, as they are more suited for publications in the environmental field. Papers describing conventional waste streams (i.e., those well-documented in existing literature) are not suitable for addressing the 'new' added value of the process empirically. • Bioenergy Processes: fermentation, thermochemical conversion, liquid and gaseous fuels, and petrochemical substitutes. • Bioenergy Utilization: direct combustion, gasification, power generation, chemical processes, and byproduct recovery. • Biomass and the Environment: carbon cycling, net energy efficiency of bioenergy systems, sustainability assessments, and biodiversity issues.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors
