The Journal of Fluorescence is an international forum dedicated to publishing peer-reviewed original research articles that advance the application of this established spectroscopic technique. Topics covered include advancements in theory and data analysis, studies on the photophysics of aromatic molecules, solvent and environmental effects, developments in fixed or time-resolved measurements, fluorescence microscopy, imaging, advancements in photobleaching/recovery measurements, and the application of phosphorescence in cell biology and chemical biology. Additionally, advanced applications of fluorescence in flow cytometry, immunology, high-throughput screening/drug discovery, DNA sequencing/arrays, genomics, and proteomics are also discussed. Typical applications may include studies on macromolecular dynamics, conformational changes, intracellular chemistry, and gene expression. The journal also publishes papers describing the synthesis and characterization of new fluorophores, particularly those exhibiting unique sensitivity and optical properties. In addition to original research articles, the journal features commentaries, rapid communications, short communications, letters to the editor, popular news articles, and technical and design notes.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors

Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.
