Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine was launched in 1995 with the mission of promoting the art and science of integrative medicine while taking on the responsibility of improving public health. We strive to uphold the highest standards of ethical medical journalism, independent of special interests, ensuring timely, accurate, and enjoyable reading. We publish peer-reviewed original scientific articles and provide continuing education for healthcare providers to promote health, prevent disease, and treat illness. Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine is the first journal in the field to be indexed by the National Library of Medicine in the United States. In 2006, 2007, and 2008, ATHM ranked highest in impact factor among independently published peer-reviewed CAM journals in the U.S., indicating that its research articles are cited more frequently than those in any other journal in the field. The journal does not endorse any specific system or method but promotes the evaluation and appropriate use of all effective therapies. Each issue features a variety of rigorous inquiry formats, from case reports to original scientific research to systematic reviews. The editors encourage licensed healthcare providers to integrate evidence-based emerging therapies with traditional medical practices to promote a holistic approach to healthcare focused on health, prevention, and treatment. Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine aims to keep all licensed healthcare practitioners informed about developments in fields outside their own and to foster ongoing debate about the scientific, clinical, historical, legal, political, and cultural issues that impact all healthcare.

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
