Respiratory disease is common in rabbits, which is frequently difficult to detectable in live animals until it becomes serious and complicated. This study was aimed to describe the histopathological changes of the lung, liver and kidney of rabbits after induction of infection by Klebseilla pneumoniae which is isolated from respiratory system infected sheep that detection by using routine diagnostic methods followed identification by using the Vitek2 system and by molecular detection of K. pneumonaie isolates with PCR using (16S rRNA gene). This experimental study has six rabbits; two animals for control and four animals for infection. After induction of infection had used of euthanasia to six rabbits and opened the thoracic cavity in laboratory. The organs were filmed. The maine pathological lesions had seen in lung, liver and kidney of rabbits which infected with Klebsiella pneumoniae. Histological and morphological description of respiratory tract of rabbits were achieved, The trachea supported by double cartilage. The rabbits are valuable models in respiratory research due to their respiratory hyper responsiveness to asthma resembles in humans. The histopathological changes of lung rabbit infected with K. pneumoniae showing mild thickness of alveoli emphysema (atelectasis). The histopathological changes of liver showed hydropic degeneration in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes with infiltration of inflammatory cell in the parenchyma of liver and congestion of blood vessels. The Histopathological changes of kidney reveals infiltration of inflammatory cell congestion and stenosis of renal lead to atrophy of renal tubules. The results of antimicrobial susceptibility showed that all 7 isolates (100%) of K. pneumonaie were susceptible to both imipenem and meropenem.

Molecular Detection of Klebseilla pneumoniae Isolated from Respiratory Infected Sheep and Histopathological Study in Rabbits

The present study aimed to evaluate the impact of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) supplementation in high-energy (HE) or normal-energy (NE) diets for growing rabbits raised in summer conditions on their growth, carcass traits, thyroid hormone levels, and immune response. To achieve this, a 2 × 2 factorial design was employed, incorporating two energy levels in the diet (10.40 and 11.52 MJ kg−1, donates as NE and HE, respectively) supplemented with either 0 or 30 mg of CoQ10 per kg of diet (donates as NQ10 and SQ10, respectively). The feeding trial was conducted using forty male rabbits (637.2±11.7g and aged 35 days) for eight weeks. The findings indicated that the inclusion of HE feed led to a significant improvement in feed conversion ratio, daily weight gain, relative growth rate, and final body weight. Furthermore, rabbits fed HE diets exhibited notable increases in total protein, lysozyme, and T4 concentrations in blood serum, alongside a decrease in ALT levels. The inclusion of CoQ10 significantly improved growth parameters, feed conversion, serum total protein, albumin, IgG, lysozyme, and T4 concentrations. Rabbits fed HE+ SQ10 and HE+ NQ10 diets showed significantly higher feed intake, final weight, relative growth rate, and daily weight gain compared with those fed NE+ NQ10 diet. Rabbits receiving HIM + SQ10 and HIM + NQ10 exhibited the best feed conversion rates and increased economic efficiency. In summary, growing rabbits raised in summer climates demonstrated a favorable response to CoQ10 supplementation and high-energy diets, showcasing enhanced economic efficiency, growth, and feed conversion ratio.

Impact of Dietary Energy Levels and Coenzyme Q10 Supplementation on Growth, Carcass Traits, Immune Function, and Thyroid Hormones in Growing Rabbits Raised in Summer Conditions

The purpose of this study was to assess the hepatoprotective effect of Salvia officinalis (Sage) oil against paracetamol-induced hepatotoxicity in broilers. Forty eight healthy, one-day-old Cobb chicks were divided into 4 groups, (12 chicks each): The first group (G1) was given a basal diet for 21 days, the second group (G2) started receiving paracetamol on the 15th day until the experiment ended, the third group (G3) received S. officinalis oil at 20 ml /Kg of diet for two weeks, then paracetamol for one week, and the fourth group (G4) received paracetamol for one week then S. officinalis oil for two weeks. Blood, serum, and liver samples were collected from each group at the end of the trial for hematological, biochemical, and histopathological assessment. After feeding S. officinalis oil to broilers that had overdosed on paracetamol, the level of hematological parameters (lymphocyte percentage, monocyte percentage, HCT percentage, WBC percentage, RBC count, and Hb content), total protein, and albumin was significantly increased, and the activities of ALT, AST, and ALP were decreased in comparison to the paracetamol group. Moreover, the S. officinalis oil increased the activities of antioxidant enzymes, lowered the amount of reduced glutathione, and decreased the concentration of malondialdehyde. Furthermore, after treatment, a notable decrease in the mRNA expression of TLR4 and lL-1β was seen in hepatic tissues of G3 and G4. In conclusion, S. officinalis oil reduces oxidative stress and inflammation, which lessens the hepatic damage produced by paracetamol in broilers. Future studies are advised to evaluate the effects of S. officinalis components independently.

Effect of Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil on Paracetamol Induced Hepatotoxicity in Broilers

Nutrition plays a pivotal role in the reproductive performance of ewes. Ewes in optimal body condition tend to have larger litters, higher lamb survival rates, and heavier lambs at weaning. While obese animals may suffer a reproductive insufficiency. Therefore, monitoring the body condition of ewes throughout their reproductive cycle is essential for maximizing flock productivity. The present work aimed to investigate the effect of rump fat depth of subtropical ewes (n = 62) at mating on their embryonic and fetal development. Pregnancy rates, reproductive wastages, level of leptin hormone, and embryonic and fetal measurements, were studied. Data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance to determine statistically significant differences among backfat depth groups (≤1 mm; >1 - ≤ 1.5 mm; >1.5 - ≤ 2 mm; >2mm). The lowest rump fat depth group had the lowest values for pregnancy rate, ewes lambed and lambs born per ewes conceived and leptin concentrations; the highest reproductive wastage was attained. Higher fetal measurements (crown-rump length, the largest placentome diameter, biparietal diameter, chest depth and trunk diameter) were observed for ewes having a backfat depth of more than 1.5 mm. However, no significant differences were observed for ewes with backfat thicknesses of >1.5 to ≤2 mm and those having >2 mm regarding all the measured traits. Therefore, controlling the rump fat depth of ewes before mating is so important for enhancing the investment of sheep flocks by reducing feeding cost and to get higher proportion of born lambs with higher weights.

Viability of Embryos and Fetuses in Relation with Backfat Depth of Ewes at Mating

the current investigation's objective was to identify Escherichia coli (E. coli), its virulence factors, antibiotic-resistant pattern(s), and antibiotic-resistant genes. A total of sixty samples were collected from diverse supermarkets and grocery stores located in El-Gharbia Governorate, consisting of 20 minced meat samples, 20 sausages, 10 burgers, and 10 luncheon meats. Through culturing and biochemical assays, 45 samples, representing 75%, tested positive for E. coli in the meat products. The prevalence was notably higher in minced meat and sausages, both at 100%, while burgers and luncheon meats showed lower rates of 40% and 0%, respectively. To evaluate the antimicrobial susceptibility of the E. coli samples, eleven different antimicrobial discs, which are among the most commonly used, were employed. Antibiotics including ceftriaxone, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, ceftazidime, and erythromycin demonstrated notable sensitivity rates of 73.3%, 66.7%, and 64.4%, respectively. In contrast, there were considerable resistance levels observed for ciprofloxacin, azithromycin, and gentamicin, with resistance rates of 60%, 57.8%, and 51.5%, respectively. A PCR used to identify E. coli by looking for the phoA (alkaline phosphatase) gene showed that all samples tested positive for the bacteria. In 91.11%, 88.88%, 86.66%, and 24.44% of E. coli samples, the eaeA ( intimin), tsh (temperature-sensitive hemagglutinin), tetA (tetracycline), and mcr1(colistin) genes were discovered, respectively. The aggregate findings suggest that consuming tainted meat products may be a potential means of spreading pathogenic E. coli. Concerns have been raised over the potential function of meat products as a reservoir for pathogenic E. coli due to the detection of the tsh gene mostly or solely in Avian Pathogenic E. coli (APEC). When combined, this may present a therapeutic problem or challenges for the consumption of meat products as well as a zoonotic risk to humans.

The effectiveness of the synergistic effect of ultraviolet C irradiation with ozone (UVC+O3) for aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), ochratoxin A (OTA), and fumonisin B1 (FB1) detoxification in naturally contaminated poultry feeds with their impacts on the feed nutritional components were investigated. Feed samples were exposed to UVC+O3 for six durations (10, 20, 30, 60, 120, and 180 min) at three distances (15, 30, and 60 cm) with UVC doses ranging between 577.8 to 10400.4 mJ/cm2 at 15 cm, 397.8 to 7160.4 mJ/cm2 at 30 cm, and 50.4 to 907.2 mJ/cm2 at 60 cm at a constant O3 concentration of 10 ppm. Mycotoxin levels were determined by competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and results were confirmed by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Feed component analysis with peroxide values (PVs) appreciation was executed according to standard analytical methods. A significant increase (P<0.05) in degradation percentages of AFB1, OTA, and FB1 was recorded with increasing exposure time and decreasing distances to reach values of 80.94, 84.07, and 83.6% at 15 cm, 78.49, 83.89, and 83.89% at 30 cm and 67.9, 74.76, and 72.89% at 60 cm, respectively after 180 min of treatment. OTA and FB1 showed degradation levels significantly higher (P<0.05) than those recorded for AFB1. Feed components were intermediately affected by UVC+O3 treatment. Feed fats were still having good quality depending on PVs estimation. In brief, the efficiency of the synergistic effect of UVC+O3 in AFB1, OTA, and FB1 detoxification from poultry feed with a moderate impact on feed quality.
