Acta Geologica Slovaca (AGEOS) is an international peer-reviewed journal published by Comenius University in Bratislava, available in both printed and open-access electronic formats. It accepts original research papers, review articles, and short contributions from all branches of geology, including geophysics, geochemistry, hydrogeology, engineering geology, geology of deposits, mineralogy, palaeontology, petrology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, tectonic geomorphology, tectonics, and related fields. Since 2016, only papers written in English are accepted. AGEOS ensures an objective and fair peer review process conducted by two or three referees, whose identities may remain confidential. The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of a paper rests with the Editorial Board, and acceptance is based solely on the quality of the work. Articles accepted for publication are typically published in the order of submission. The journal is published in full color. Acta Geologica Slovaca was established in June 2009, replacing the previously published Acta Geologica Universitatis Comenianae, which ceased publication in 2007.
