The AIJ Journal of Technology and Design aims to accumulate and systematize knowledge on building and maintaining architecture and the surrounding cities or areas through technological development and comprehensive research. Accordingly, it compiles technology and design reports and discussions in the following areas related to buildings or building-related phenomena: 1) New technologies pertaining to the planning, design, construction, and operation of buildings, or to building-related phenomena; 2) Results of technological development of new materials, structural methods, equipment, and computer software related to buildings or building-related phenomena; 3) New facts and documents from comprehensive research and development; 4) Systematization of design and construction methods for buildings. This journal shares technology and reports from members of the Architectural Institute of Japan (general incorporated association), with a readership both in Japan and abroad.
