Child Care in Practice is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal that provides an international forum for professionals working in all disciplines related to children's services. This includes social work, social care, health care, medicine, psychology, education, police and probation services, as well as solicitors and barristers in the family law and youth justice sectors. The journal's strategic aims and objectives are: • To develop the knowledge base of practitioners, managers, and other professionals responsible for delivering quality child care services. The journal aims to contribute to achieving high standards and quality services. • To ensure equitable input from all disciplines working with children. The multidisciplinary nature of the journal reflects that successful outcomes in child care often depend on close cooperation among different fields. • To raise awareness of often-neglected issues such as the marginalization of ethnic minorities and the challenges arising from poverty and disability. • To stay informed and continue to influence local and international child care practices in response to emerging policies. • To include the perspectives of those receiving multidisciplinary child care services. • To welcome submissions on promising practice developments and findings from new research to highlight the breadth of the journal's work.
