American Communication Journal

Abbreviation
ISSN1532-5865
h-index15

The American Communication Journal was commissioned by the Board of Directors of the American Communication Association at the 1996 Annual Convention in historic Charleston, South Carolina. It is a completely online, blind-reviewed publication dedicated to the thorough analysis and criticism of significant communicative artifacts. Appreciating the diversity of research agendas and methodologies in the study of communication, the Co-Editors and Editorial Board of ACJ welcome submissions on any topic related to the discipline. ACJ is unique in that it: (1) is exclusively a world-wide-web (WWW) publication, and (2) therefore provides scholars with the opportunity to hypertextually reference supporting materials available online.

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
