Mechanics regulates biological processes at the molecular, cellular, tissue, organ, and organism levels. The aim of this journal is to promote both fundamental and applied research, integrating the expanding knowledge base in the fields of biomechanics and mechanobiology. The methods can be experimental, theoretical, or computational, addressing phenomena at the nano, micro, or macro levels. The journal is particularly interested in the following research areas: (1) quantifying the mechanical environment of cells and the extracellular matrix in health, disease, or injury; (2) identifying and quantifying mechanosensitive responses and their mechanisms; (3) detailing the interplay between mechanics and biology in processes such as growth, remodeling, adaptation, and repair; and (4) reporting discoveries that advance therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Analyses and computational models based on solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, or thermodynamics and their interactions are especially encouraged, as are reports of new experimental methods that enhance measurement capabilities and new mathematical approaches that facilitate analysis.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors

Books Citation Format

Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
