Frontiers in Computational Neuroscience is a leading electronic journal dedicated to advancing theoretical modeling of brain functions and fostering interdisciplinary interactions between theoretical and experimental neuroscience. Our understanding of the brain's remarkable capabilities remains limited, and we believe that only through deep theoretical reflection and collaborative efforts across various disciplines and methods can we achieve breakthroughs. Therefore, we invite original contributions on a wide range of topics to showcase the results of such collaboration or to inspire future alliances. Our goal is to provide an interactive forum for cutting-edge theoretical research on the nervous system and to disseminate the best theoretical studies to the broader neuroscience community. From biophysically driven realistic simulations of neurons and synapses to advanced abstract models of reasoning and decision-making, a variety of styles and all levels of models are welcome. While the journal primarily focuses on theory-driven research, we also welcome experimental studies that validate and test theoretical conclusions.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors
Books Citation Format
Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.
Thesis Citation Format
Web sites Citation Format
Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
